Hunting the elusive whitetail in New Hampshire is one of the most rewarding experiences available. Whether you spend one day in the woods with us or several, you will see the passion our guides have for whitetail deer hunting. Hunt our exclusive QDM land and harvest a trophy or hunt the hundreds of acres available to us by landowner permission.</p> <p>Semi-Guided Hunts  Our guides will meet with you long before daylight to discuss tree stand locations, tree cam photos, topo maps and strategies for your morning hunt. We will then take you into one of our comfortable stands or blinds. Later in the morning, each hunter has the opportunity to still hunt on miles of trails as you work your way out of the woods back to the pick-up point for lunch. After Lunch and another strategy session with your guide, we will take you to an evening stand. When the day ends, we will meet you at your stand for the walk out after legal shooting time. </p> <p>Fully Guided Hunts  This hunt includes being accompanied by one or more of our guides for the entire day. Our guide service is designating a significant number of bear baiting permits to youth hunters ages 12-16. Each young hunter and their guardian will be required to have completed Hunter Safety and will attend a Saturday class at the Outdoor Learning Center to learn about Black Bear biology, sizing a bear in the field, management, baiting, and tree stand safety. They will spend the afternoon shooting their rifle from a tree stand at bear targets at various distances to ensure good, clean, safe shooting skills. When he moved to NH in his 20&#8217;s, deer hunting became a passion for him. Over the past 14 years he has harvested at least one deer per year and sometimes more. This success, as well as the passion, has motivated him to begin pursuing a career in guiding, so that he can help others achieve their goals and dreams as well.</p> <p>When you spend time with John, you will see an &#8220;anything outdoors&#8221; attitude and that he was born to guide. Not only has John become a successful outdoorsman but he also enjoys helping others be successful as well. Some of his passions are hunting, fishing, canoeing, camping, hiking, mounting biking, and ATV riding. </p> <p>Now that he has children he has been able to pass down his passion for the outdoors, even helping his son harvest his first whitetail. He began hunting, fishing, and trapping at the age of 8. After graduating from college with a degree in aviation, Scott fulfilled his life long dream and moved to Homer, Alaska. The next 10 years were spent flying the Alaskan Bush, repairing airplanes, hunting, fishing, and trapping in the Last Frontier. Slowly, the desire to return to New England began to creep in. In 2004, Scott and his family rented their Alaska home to the Coast Guard and moved back to New Hampshire. Today, Scott owns several successful businesses and is a partner in the Great North Woods Guide Service, LLC.
